Destiny 2‘s first raid, Leviathan, has been bested and a World First team has been crowned. Just hours after the raid launched, members of the clan The Legend Himself, led by streamer and YouTuber Slayerage, were announced to be the first to beat the Leviathan raid.
Leviathan launched at 10 a.m. this morning and it took almost six hours for Slayerage and his team to finally beat the very mechanic- and puzzle-heavy venture. Destiny 2‘s developer, Bungie, tweeted out the official announcement:
Congratulations to Clan ‘The Legend Himself’ on being the World First to complete the Leviathan Raid.

In addition to the raid being conquered, doing so unlocked a new PvP map in the Crucible for everyone. It is located aboard the Leviathan ship and is called Emperor’s Respite.
A number of Bungie employees were watching the race to be World First, and the crowd of developers who were in the theater located at Bungie headquarters burst out in applause when the first team finally felled the final boss.

Beating the raid unlocks the next step of the quest to earn the exotic raid weapon, which is a shotgun called Legend of Acrius. In addition, a new vendor shows up in the Tower after players complete the raid, a sweeper bot located down a set of stairs near Hawthorne. It’s here that players will turn in tokens earned from completing the various raid encounters, and from whom they can earn raid loot.
Plenty of players are still playing the raid for the first time and probably will be as they level up and become powerful enough to take on this PvE endgame challenge. As mentioned, this raid requires a lot of coordination and puzzle solving to complete, so be sure to keep an eye out for Game Rant’s guides to help explain the hardest parts of the raid. In fact, the first guide to beat the Pleasure Gardens (also being called “Dogs”) is already up, so be sure to check it out.
The next step for the Leviathan raid is Prestige Mode, which Bungie says will debut sometime in October.
Destiny 2 is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, and on October 24, 2017 for PC.
