Excited About The Galaxy Note 8 – An Emperor Edition Galaxy Note 8 is rumoured with a massive 256GB onboard storage

Rumours abound of the Galaxy Note 8 ahead of its expected August 23 launch and September 15 release, but amongst the details the handset will be capped at 64GB of onboard storage and 6GB RAM. However, according to an increasing number of corroborating reports, the most recent coming from Twitter source Roland Quandt, there will be a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 “Emperor Edition” which will have the storage boosted to 256GB.

According to his Tweet, Quandt says this version will be coming at the very least to the Asian market. We suspect if Samsung’s past launch habits are anything to go by it will remain an exclusive to South Korea at first, before perhaps being expaned to China, Taiwan, and India at most. If it gets global availability or any launch in the West we will be surprised.

However, it does raise the question of whether there will be a 128GB mid-tier, or rather a higher-tier storage option of the regular, non-Emperor Galaxy Note 8. A jump from 64GB up to 256GB is quite a leap, particularly as in the past the higher-tier Asian exclusives for the likes of the Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S8 series have been 128GB setups. Could we finally get 128GB Galaxy flagships in Europe and North American markets?

Aside from the change in storage capacity, the Emperor Edition is expected to be exactly the same as the regular model, with the same Exynos 8995 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor (market dependent), dual-sensor camera, S-Pen stylus and all the rest.
