It’s actually very easy to set up your Touch Bar and Touch ID. Simply follow these steps on how to do so:
- Make sure that your OS system is in macOS Sierra 10.12.1 (Build 16B2657) or later and iTunes 126.96.36.199 or later. You can check this by heading on the the menu of your Macbook and selecting “About This Mac”. For iTunes, go to the App Store and check if your iTunes is due for an update.
- Go to System Preferences and select Touch ID. Uncheck “iTunes & App Store” under “Use Touch IS for” and recheck it. Enter the password of your Macbook.
- Go to iTunes or the App Store and make a purchase. Enter your Apple ID password and select Yes when asked to use Touch ID for future purchases.
Take note that you will need to do these steps again when wanting to enable Touch ID for both App Store and iTunes. Now once you are done, you’ll be able to automatically download and purchase anything by scanning your fingerprint on the Touch Bar!
