Liverpool vs. Manchester City 2018 live stream: Time, TV channel, and how to watch Champions League online

The Champions League quarterfinals brings us a match between two of the top sides in England.

The Champions League quarterfinal round has brought us some interesting matchups this year, but perhaps none is quite as intriguing as Liverpool facing off with Manchester City in a battle of two of the top teams in England, a tie that gets underway at Anfield on Wednesday.

Manchester City have dominated the Premier League to date, running away with the league title to such an extent that they could be less than two weeks away from clinching the title. But in the here and now, their focus is on the Champions League, a competition that they’ve pretty well cruised through so far this season.

City allowed just five goals in the entire group stage — three of which were to a very good Napoli team that they outscored 6-3 over both matches, including a 4-2 win in Italy — and then went on to humble Basel in Switzerland to the tune of a 4-0 win in the first leg of their round of 16 tie. They did lose the home leg 2-1, but with the tie over by the time they came back to England Pep Guardiola had heavily rotated his side, so that result has much less meaning.

But Liverpool have given Pep’s side fits over the last couple of years, including an absolute epic of a match match earlier this season when Liverpool beat City 4-3 at Anfield in Premier League action. That match saw a whopping five goals in the second half, including two from City in the final ten minutes to make the end of the match incredibly dramatic. Liverpool’s high-octane offense has the ability to score a multitude of goals on anyone in the world, but their defense has let them down at times with some Jekyl-and-Hyde performances. This tie is going to turn based on how Liverpool’s back line and midfield perform — but no matter what, we’re going to enjoy one heck of a high powered, fast-flowing tie between two excellent teams.
