Pokemon GO Raid Boss List Updated

Dedicated Pokemon GO players that participate in raids have been noticing some new creatures lately. As it turns out, Niantic has added some new Pokemon to raids in Pokemon GO, which range from welcome additions to some that will have players scratching their heads. Here are all the new raid Pokemon that have been added to the game:

Tier 1

  • Charmeleon
  • Ivysaur
  • Metapod
  • Wartortle

Tier 2

  • Cloyster
  • Magneton
  • Marowak
  • Sableye
  • Sandslash
  • Tentacruel

Tier 3

  • Ninetails
  • Omastar
  • Porygon
  • Scyther

Tier 4

  • Golem
  • Nidoking
  • Nidoqueen
  • Poliwrath
  • Victreebell

Adding the second forms of first generation starter Pokemon seems like a move that will be welcomed by fans. Players can now find the likes of Charmeleon, Ivysaur, and Wartortle in tier 1 raids, which should make it a lot easier for them to catch Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise. However, Metapod has also been added to tier 1 raids, even though it seems unlikely that many players would waste a raid pass fighting it.

Besides the addition of Metapod, another new raid Pokemon may have some fans confused. For one reason or another, Niantic also decided to add the third generation ghost-type Pokemon Sableye to tier 2 raids, despite the fact that the creature has been incredibly common for the past couple of weeks as part of the game’s Halloween 2017 event.

While some of the new raid Pokemon seem like odd additions to the lineup, there are some great ones as well. Many fans will jump at the chance to catch a Golem, as it is one of the best Pokemon to use in legendary raids. Other rare Pokemon, like Omastar and Porygon, will also be worth seeking out for those that have yet to add them to their Pokedex.

All things considered, the new Pokemon appearing in Pokemon GO raids should excite dedicated fans that have already caught all the other raid Pokemon available. Speaking of which, popular raid Pokemon like Tyranitar should still appear in raids, but they should be rarer now that there are even more Pokemon that can possibly show up.

Pokemon GO is available now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
