Pokemon GO Update Fixes Small Game Bugs

Following its highest grossing day ever, Pokemon GO‘s developers at Niantic continued to work diligently to track down and eliminate as many problems as possible with the next patch for the popular augmented reality mobile game. Now, the company has rolled out a brand new update for the title, which fixes some of its small game bugs, including, but not limited to those related to the game freezing and crashing.

In addition to squashing such bugs that get in the way of actually playing Pokemon GO, Niantic’s latest update for the game fixed a “motivation decay bug” for Pokemon who have less than 3000 CP. Furthermore, the new patch for the title also brings back Team Instinct leader Spark, who had apparently been missing-in-action, with fans having assiduously appealed for the developer to bring him back to the game.

players who apply the latest update ought to see version 0.69.1 for Android devices and 1.39.1 for iOS once it’s finished installing. Of course, should one wish to make sure that the new patch has successfully accomplished what it set out to achieve, they can follow along with their game open and check the full patch notes as seen below.

  • Spark has returned to appraise Pokemon for Team Instinct Trainers.
  • Resolved a motivation decay bug impacting Pokemon with less than 3000 CP.
  • Resolved a bug causing Pokemon GO to freeze after consuming potions too quickly.
  • Resolved a bug causing Pokemon GO to freeze after all 6 Pokemon faint during a Raid Battle.
  • Resolved an issue causing iPhone 6 devices to crash.

Although Niantic keeps chugging along when it comes to updating and expanding Pokemon GO with new patches and forthcoming content, some fans aren’t happy with the developer, especially after the incredibly troublesome Pokemon GO Fest. As it so happens, some attendees are filing a class action lawsuit against the company for the litany of issues encountered at the event, such as shoddy connection issues, inability to log into the game, and the failure to provide “special Pokemon and other rewards.”

Of course, while the latest update will do little toward giving the Pokemon GO users suing Niantic satisfaction, at least the developer is still pressing on when it comes to attempting to provide a better game for the rest of its fans. Just recently, the company teased Epic Legendary Raid Battles, which intends to keep dedicated users engaged and could even cause some lapsed players to return to the fold.

Pokemon GO is available for Android and iOS devices.
