While many would argue that The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is already chock full of plenty mystical and magical gameplay moments from its base game to its DLC, the Japanese modder Vicn has decided that it needs to have even more and could even stand to learn some tricks from the PlayStation 4 exclusive Bloodborne in the process. In order to make this happen, the incredibly talented modder has decided to to transport Yharnam to Tamriel with quests, weapons, and armor sets inspired by From Software’s 2015 action-RPG in an expansive mod called Project Glenmoril.
As seen below in the trailer for Project Glenmoril, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim fans will be able to utilize such familiar weapons as Bloodborne‘s Hunter Blunderbuss, its Saw Cleaver, the mace-like Tonitrus, and more. Not to mention, the action-RPG’s Crowfeather gear, Yharnum Hunter armor set, Gehrman’s Hunter garb, and more can be worn as apparel while traveling around Bethesda’s fantasy role-playing game.
As of now, Vicn only has one Glenmoril ten-quest episode available for Skyrim that’s named “Little Red Riding Hood,” but the modder is currently working on its second line of missions, and he even has a third and fourth planned for later on down the road. Although Glenmoril’s pre-alpha is available in Japanese, Vicn has decided to also put out an English translation file for Skyrim and Bloodborne fans in the west, which can be found on its NexusMods page.
For those unaware, some of Vicn’s previous work has laid the foundation for the Glenmoril mod’s creation, as he’s used other From Software titles for inspiration to spruce up the fifth installment in The Elder Scrolls series. For instance, the modder’s Vigilant mod incorporated some assets into Skyrim that brought about a Dark Souls flair to the open world fantasy role-playing title’s gameplay.
Of course, there are a plethora of various mods available for Skyrim that offer new quest lines, weapons, and armor, and Vicn’s Glenmoril is just one among many. However, considering the craftsmanship involved and the way that Bloodborne-related assets seem to fit snugly into the open world title, it’s hard not be impressed with the modder’s latest creation.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is out now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch release slated for later this year. Bloodborne, on the other hand, is only available for PlayStation 4.
