Apple has finally started rolling out iTunes web previews for Apple TV app. Initially pointed out by Jeff Scott on Twitter and reported by MacStories, the web previews will allow developers and users to easily share links to fourth-generation Apple TV apps in the same manner as they have for iOS and Mac apps in the past.
The iTunes Preview pages appear to be currently rolling out for apps that only appear on Apple TV, so universal apps that also appear on iOS will still only show information for that platform. Additionally, there’s no way to start downloading an app to your Apple TV from the web preview — at least not yet.
While previews aren’t yet available for every app, it’s good to see web previews are at least gradually rolling out. Developers will now be able to more easily share links to their apps on the internet, and interested users will be able to peruse interesting apps away from their TVs.
